Team USA Takes First-Ever World Games Flag Football Title

Team USA men beat Italy 46-36 to win the first-ever gold medal in flag football at The World Games. Currently taking place in Birmingham, Alabama, it was Mexico who were the maiden winners of a medal in the sport, coming away with bronze after beating Austria 39-35 in the first game on Thursday (14 July).

The inaugural women’s medal was bagged by Panama who again kept the Austrian‘s from the podium, winning 40-19.

The USA women were unable to emulate their male counterparts when Mexico beat them comprehensively in the gold-medal match, 39-6, in the last game of the night.
