Central Wisconsin Natives Poised to Make Mark on the Music Scene
MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – The Burds, a musical ensemble comprising brothers Judah and Jed Burdick, along with their longtime friends Gavin Teter and Austin Martin, are poised to make their mark on the music scene. Formed in 2022, The Burds’ journey is rooted in a shared love for music and a deep-seated desire to inspire others.
Despite facing the challenges of cystic fibrosis (CF), Central Wisconsin natives Judah and Jed have channeled their experiences into their music.
“Cystic fibrosis is a pretty brutal and relentless genetic disease,” remarked Judah. “Personally, it takes up a lot of my time. Every decision I make, I must take my health into account. It has led to a lot of missed opportunities and depression. It has also led me to be a more empathetic and caring person.”
For both brothers, music has been a sanctuary amidst the struggles of CF.
“Anything that I’m struggling with or excited about, I can turn to music and feel protected,” said Jed. Their debut EP reflects this resilience, with themes of courage and inner strength woven into every track.
“I can take all my thoughts and emotions, positive or negative, and put them into a song,” shared Judah. “Music helps me overcome negative thoughts and emotions by providing me with a healthy release. I believe I was meant to be a musician.”
As they gear up for their first live performance, The Burds are eager to share their message of hope and resilience.
“I’m looking forward to letting the listeners hear our positive messages,” said Jed. “I’m also hopeful that our songs will provide strength to those in need.”
May is Cystic Fibrosis Awareness Month, and The Burds want to offer support to those facing similar challenges.
“Don’t lose hope. Don’t give up,” urged Jed. “If you’re struggling, please reach out to someone you trust. You can even message us.”
Through their music and personal journey, The Burds hope to inspire others to pursue their dreams relentlessly.
“Do what makes you happy and you’ll never lose!” affirmed Jed.
“I hope we can inspire and motivate others to pursue their dreams by being living examples,” added Judah.
Joining forces with lifelong friends Gavin and Austin, The Burds are ready to make their mark on the music industry.
“When Judah wanted to put together The Burds project and asked me to be a part of it, it was a no-brainer,” shared Gavin.
“I’m always practicing some instrument for the enjoyment of doing so anyways,” said Austin. “It’s hard to turn down a good reason to practice!”
With their unique blend of talent, passion, and perseverance, The Burds are set to soar to new heights, inspiring audiences and spreading positivity every step of the way.
