Voting for central Wisconsin’s top team saw one team run away with the title.
Thorp Softball was Named the OnFocus Team of the Week, May 29 to June 4, collecting 378 votes.
Edgar Softball took second place with 195 votes.
In third place was Stratford Baseball with 153 votes, and Mosinee was 4th with 138 votes.

OnFocus Team of the Week, May 29 to June 4
- Stratford Baseball – The Tigers advanced to sectionals with wins over Northland Pines(7-2) and Oconto Falls(5-2). Stratford faces Oconto at Crivitz in a sectional semifinal on Tuesday at 11:00 am.
- Thorp Softball – The Cardinals are headed to state after claiming a pair of wins. Thorp handled #2 Eau Claire Immanuel Lutheran 12-3 before taking down #1 seed Drummond 2-0. Thorp will face Assumption Thursday evening at Goodman Field in Madison in a state semifinal at approximately 8:30 pm.
- Assumption Girls Soccer and Softball – The Royals have a pair of teams excelling in the playoffs. The Soccer team hosts Lodi Thursday in a sectional semifinal after trouncing River Valley 11-1 in a regional final. The Softball team takes on Thorp Thursday evening in a state semifinal at approximately 8:30 pm.
- Mosinee Baseball – Mosinee advanced to sectionals with a pair of wins last week. Mosinee handled GNC foe Rhinelander 11-1 before taking on rival Medford, defeating the Raiders 9-8 in a nine-inning affair that will go down in history as a classic. Mosinee plays at Abbotsford on Tuesday at 1:00 pm in a sectional semifinal matchup against Altoona.
- Edgar Softball – The Wildcats blanked their sectional opponents, #4 Newman Catholic(7-0) and #1 Sevastopol(11-0) in reaching the state tournament. Edgar will face Barneveld Friday morning at 8:00 am in a state semifinal at Goodman Field in Madison.
