Tony Biolo: Lincoln High School’s Head Football Coach Stepping Down
Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln’s Head Football Coach steps down after 22 years as head coach of
the Red Raiders. Coach Biolo has coached football for 35 years, which included assistant
coaching for 1 year at DC Everest High School, along with 11 years as an assistant coach at
Lincoln.
In 2003, Tony became the head coach at Lincoln High School. During his time at Lincoln, he
accumulated 100 wins. During his tenure, Coach Biolo led Lincoln to conference championships in ‘11, ‘17, ‘21, and ‘22. In 2005 and 2011, Coach Biolo led the Red Raiders to State appearances. Since 2003, Tony has been an active member of the Wisconsin Football Coaches Association (WFCA) and was elected and served as their president from 2015-2017 and for a second term from 2021-2023. Coach Biolo was inducted into the Wisconsin Football Coaches Association (WFCA) Hall of Fame in 2021.
“As someone who has worked alongside him formerly as principal and watched my son grow under his tutelage in the program, I can personally attest to the profound impact he has had on generations of student-athletes. Tony has tirelessly dedicated countless hours to developing not just skilled athletes but well-rounded individuals with strong values and morals. His commitment to excellence extends far beyond the field—instilling discipline, teamwork, and integrity in every player who has had the privilege of wearing our school’s jersey. His active involvement with the WIAA and the WFCA further reflects his commitment to advancing high school athletics across the state. Tony was also instrumental in the redevelopment of WoodTrust Bank Field/South Wood County Stadium, ensuring that our student-athletes have a premier facility that matches their dedication and hard work and for bringing the WIAA 8-Man Football State Championship game to Wisconsin Rapids”, said Ron Rasmussen, current Wisconsin Rapids Public Schools Superintendent.
The Lincoln High School Athletic Department thanks Coach Biolo for all his countless hours and his dedication to our student-athletes and football in the Wisconsin Rapids community. Coach Biolo has left a positive foundation for football in our school and community, and his impact on football and our student-athletes will be felt for generations to come .
Biolo finished his coaching career with 100 wins and 117 losses.
