TOWN OF MCMILLAN, WI (OnFocus) – Concerned Citizens of McMillan Township, in collaboration with Wisconsin Advocates for Responsible Energy (WARE), are hosting an informational meeting to discuss the potential impact of industrial wind turbines on the local community. The event will take place on March 12, 2025, from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Stratford Heritage Barn, located at 208268 State Hwy 97.

With growing discussions about renewable energy projects in Wisconsin, residents are encouraged to attend this session to learn more about how large-scale wind turbines could affect property values, public health, livestock, the environment, and local wildlife. The meeting will also provide insights into the Wind Energy Licensing Ordinance and what it could mean for the future of McMillan and surrounding areas.

One of the key concerns being raised is the size and scale of the proposed wind turbines. At 600 feet tall, these turbines would be nearly twice the height of the Statue of Liberty (303 feet) and close in elevation to Rib Mountain, which is home to Granite Peak Ski Area’s 700-foot vertical drop—one of the tallest in the state.

As industrial wind farms continue to be developed across Wisconsin, the meeting will serve as an opportunity for residents to engage in discussion, ask questions, and explore the potential effects on their community.

For those interested in learning more, all are welcome to attend this public forum to gain a deeper understanding of the potential implications of industrial wind energy in McMillan Township.
