A train derailment has stopped traffic at 17th Ave. N and Bonow Ave. The Wisconsin Rapids Police Department has advised avoiding this area as it will be a long time before roads are cleared.
The derailment occurred in the train yard area and there are no reported injuries, chemical spills. There is no threat to public health or safety.
The tracks are located between the West Side compost and Bonow Ave.
