Treve Stoffel and Landon Thomer Produce Career Nights, Mosinee Outguns Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln

Mosinee vs. Wisconsin Rapids  Won: 94-65

 

The Mosinee boys basketball team traveled for a non-conference basketball game against Wisconsin Rapids.  The team came out on top with a 94-65 victory.  Mosinee jumped out of the gates with intense defense and good transition offense to jump out with an early lead and it continued throughout the half.  The team was lead at half by Treve Stoffel’s 12 points, 9 points from Aidan Shaughnessy, 9 points from Keagen Jirschele, 8 points from Landen Thomer, 7 points from Cole Kowalski, and 2 points from Garrett Shupe to lead Mosinee to a 47-32 halftime lead.  The scoring and defense would continue in the second half.  Mosinee would push the tempo and find ways to get shots and push the lead to 30 points at one point in the game.  There was some great team play and passing for the team tonight.  Mosinee was led by Keagen Jirschele’s 26 points, 5 assists, 3 rebounds, and 2 steals while going 5 for 5 at the free throw line.  Treve Stoffel would have a double-double tonight with 19 points, 11 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal while hitting one 3.  Landon Thomer had a career night with a rare triple-double with 14 points, 13 rebounds, 11 assists, 2 steals, and 1 block.  Cole Kowaski added 12 points and 2 steals while hitting one 3 and going 5 for 6 at the free throw line.  Aidan Shaughnessy added 11 points and 8 rebounds while hitting 1 three.  Garrett Shupe added 8 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal and 1 block.  Trent Gorski and Gavin Chmiel both added 2 points each to round out the scoring for the night.   Mosinee is now 5-1 overall for the season and 1-0 in conference.  They will travel to Antigo for their second conference matchup of the season.  This will be a Miracle Minute game for the Never Forgotten Honor Flight starting at 7:15.
