Triton Gross and Joshua Steinbach of Marshfield Boys Track and Field Voted Athletes of the Week, March 30 – April 5
A spirited battle for the top saw area athletes receive remarkable support for their efforts. A close contest saw Marshfield Boys Track and Field athletes Triton Gross and Joshua Steinbach earn the title of Athletes of the Week, March 30 – April 15 with 818 votes.
Taking second was Bonduel Girls Track and Field’s Mariah Wondra with 815 votes.
Amherst Softball’s Delaney Conner was third with 191 votes. Fourth place was earned by Prentice Girls Track and Field’s Kylie Orysen with 64 votes.
OnFocus Athlete of the Week, March 30 – April 5
- Delaney Conner, Amherst Softball (nominated online) – Conner has begun the season with a bang for the Falcons, leading Amherst in their trip to Florida to start the season. Conner was 8 for 8 to begin the season, and the Falcons are off to a 4-1 start.
- Jensen Rice, Iola-Scandinavia Boys Track and Field – Rice took first in the 60 m dash and 60 m hurdles for the Thunderbirds at the Rosholt-Webko-Polito’s Invite.
- Mariah Wondra, Bonduel Girls Track and Field – Wondra claimed a pair of titles for Bonduel at the Rosholt-Webko-Politos Invitational, taking the top spot in the 1600 m run and 3200 m run. Wondra set the meet record in the 3200 meter run.
- Kylie Orysen, Prentice Girls Track and Field (nominated online)- Orysen took first place in the 3200 meter run and finished third in the 1600 meter run for the Bucs at the Bluejay Track and Field meet.
- Triton Gross/Joshua Steinbach, Marshfield Boys Track and Field – The Marshfield duo each picked up a pair of first place finishes in Marshfield’s dual meet win over DCE. Gross was first in the triple jump and 440 dash and Steinbach finished first in the 60 yard dash and 220 yard dash.
