UNITY, WI (OnFocus) – A violent storm system swept through the Midwest on Tuesday, May 21st, unleashing multiple tornadoes alongside damaging winds, hail, and lightning. The small village of Unity, Wisconsin bore the brunt of a confirmed tornado, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake.
The tornado, striking with little warning, caused significant damage throughout the community. Buildings were flattened, roofs were ripped from homes, trees were downed, and power lines were severed, plunging Unity into darkness. Residents reported a lack of warning, with some stating they never heard sirens and others claiming they only had seconds to react after hearing the alarms.
In the storm’s aftermath, the community spirit has shone through. Today, neighboring areas have joined forces to assist Unity with cleanup efforts.
Once the National Weather Service has surveyed the area, more information will be provided. No injuries have been reported to OnFocus at this time.
