Two-Vehicle Crash Involving School Bus

TOWN OF ELDERON, WI (OnFocus) – The Marathon County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a two-vehicle crash involving a school bus at approximately 7:25 a.m. on Thursday, September 5, 2024, near the intersection of County Highway II and Red Cedar Drive in the Town of Elderon.

No students on the school bus were injured in the crash. The driver of the second vehicle sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The school bus was carrying 21 students at the time of the crash. The students were released to their parents or transferred to another bus for transport to their destination.

The cause of the crash is currently under investigation. The Marathon County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Wisconsin State Patrol, Hatley Fire and EMS, Riverside ALS, Wittenberg EMS, and the Wittenberg School District.
