OnFocus – At approximately 8:11pm on August 28, 2020, the Rome Police Department responded to the 1400 Block of Rapids Trail for a report of a missing person. The individual was identified as Dale M Larson, 65, of Marshfield.
Family members informed police that Larson suffers from dementia and had left his second home, in the 1400 block of Rapids Trail, on his silver Trek bicycle between 3pm and 4pm on August 28. Larson is 5′ 10″, weighs about 170 lbs. He was last observed wearing black bike shorts, an Under Armour gold/yellow shirt with florescent green jersey over the top (see photo).
An extensive search was conducted Friday night before being called off at 3:30am. The ground search resumed Saturday along with an extensive air and water search.
At this time, civilian search teams are not being requested.
“We are however requesting home owners check their property and unlocked buildings and vehicles,” Rome Police said in a statement.
The Rome Police Department was assisted searching by the Adams County Sheriff’s Office, Wood County Sheriff’s Department, Wood County Rescue, Nekoosa Police Department, Rom Fire Department, Big Flats Fire Department, Wisconsin State Patrol, Life Link III Helicopter, WI DNR, and WI Emergency Management.
