Submitted to OnFocus – On Sunday, May 2, Neenah-Menasha Fire Rescue responded for smoke and flames visible from outside of the building at 19:29 hrs. at the former Whiting Paper Mill. The building at 100 River Street, Menasha, is now an apartment complex.
Upon arrival, crews quickly determined the extent of fire and called for activation of MABAS Division 123 bringing additional fire personnel to assist on-scene and
support additional calls for service in the Neenah-Menasha area.
Crews were able to contain the fire by early Monday morning, however crews will remain on scene into the morning to continue to work to fully extinguish the fire. The Fire Investigation is ongoing and will take a number of days to conclude as NMFR and Menasha PD are working collectively in these efforts.
There were no known injuries reported by Emergency Service Personnel during this event.
