The City of Marshfield will be starting an asphalt overlay project on Upham St. (Chestnut Ave. to Oak Ave.) May 13, 2019 with completion anticipated by May 31, 2019.
Work will consist of milling of the existing roadway, crack and joint repair, paving of a new asphalt surface and painting new pavement markings. Work will be completed one-half at a time in order to maintain one-way westbound traffic.
The City of Marshfield is providing traffic control on Upham Street for this project. During the project, Upham Street will be reduced down to one lane of traffic going in one direction only. Traffic heading west from Central Avenue will be allowed to use Upham Street during the construction project. Traffic heading east on Upham Street from Joseph Avenue will be detoured at Oak Avenue.
The detour runs south on Oak Avenue to Ives Street, then continues east on Ives Street to Central Avenue and Central Avenue to the north until arriving back to Upham Street. Other detours may be posted as needed. Speed will also be reduced through the construction project on Upham Street (Oak Avenue to Central Avenue) to 15 mph.
