UWSP alumnus Cody Siegler is making a difference in the community, and credits his college experience for inspiring his passion through college and into the “real world”.
Siegler attended UWSP from 2011-2014, graduating with a major in Business Administration and a minor in Military Science.
“I chose to go to UWSP due to their reputable school of business and ROTC program,” said Siegler. “These programs set me up for success in the highly competitive job market and gave me the skills needed to advance my career in the insurance industry and in the Wisconsin National Guard.”
Siegler is currently an active member service member in the Wisconsin National Guard and has served for more than nine years in the local Field Artillery Units in Stevens Point, Marshfield, and Wisconsin Rapids.
“UWSP’s ROTC and Business programs were a great influence for me joining the National Guard,” he said. “The friendships and the experiences that I have are truly priceless and helped me achieve my personal goals of being an active part in my community.”
Siegler learned several skills at UWSP, but one stands out above the rest.
“The one skill that UWSP instilled in me was the drive to be defined as professional within my community,” he said. “To me learning my profession did not end at graduation. My education created the road map to lifelong learning which I use to give back to my community and protect its longevity.”
