Stevens Point (OnFocus) – Schools nationwide are preparing how they will navigate the COVID-19 pandemic, and UWSP, which has locations in Stevens Point, Marshfield, and Wausau, recently released information about the fall semester.
According to Chancellor Bernie Patterson, faculty are in the process of developing courses in a mixture of in-person, hybrid and online formats.
“When details are finalized, the course delivery formats will be posted for students to review and make registration adjustments as needed,” he wrote. “We will send you more information by late July regarding steps to adjust your schedule.”
He noted that the Registrar’s Office is also working with faculty members on the Fall Timetable, including whether courses are in-person or online, and if they are hybrid courses, how often they will meet face-to-face. Adjustments to course schedules are expected to be complete by July 25.
Everyone will be required to wear face coverings in all UW-Stevens Point buildings, including classrooms, and to maintain six feet of physical distancing. Students with conditions that affect their use of a face covering are encouraged to contact the Disability and Assistive Technology Center to discuss accommodations in classes.
“We want you to be confident in the course delivery format and knowing your health and safety remain our top priorities,” said Patterson. “So whether you prefer online courses or in-person learning, options will be available to you. Regardless of format, you can be confident of the quality of the educational experience offered by outstanding faculty and staff, who are dedicated to helping you succeed in your educational journey.”
