MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – Hours after a car was caught up in high, rushing water at North Wood County Park, the Richfield Rural Fire Department posted a notice telling people to stay away from high water.

The post indicated that the people in the vehicle went around the barricades that were set up when their vehicle was taken by the high water. All occupants of the vehicle were unharmed however the vehicle was submerged.

The high amounts of rain have caused widespread flooding in North Wood County with places like Little Bull Falls and the Yellow River in Pittsville all reporting flooding.

The post told people to heed the warnings set up by emergency personnel as it is there for your safety.

“Please don’t drive through water that is going over roads or go around barricades,” the post said.
