OnFocus – According to police reports, on June 2 at 3:05pm, a car struck two bicyclists riding next to one another while they crossed Vine Avenue on the Veterans Parkway bike path.
The car’s operator had a red light and was proceeding into the intersection to make a right turn onto Veteran’s Parkway when she hit the bicyclists. The bicyclists were heading west and had a green light to proceed through the intersection.
Both bicyclists suffered minor scrapes to their legs. One bicycle had a front bent rim and another lost a chain during the collision.
Drivers and bicyclists are encouraged to remain vigilant. Look twice, save a life!
