MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – Every year, we are reminded of all who gave some and some who gave all while serving our country in the military. This Veteran’s Day there will be multiple events that will be available to the public. Here’s some of our picks to pay respects to those who served and are currently serving:
- Highground Veteran’s Day Memorial Ceremony – The event will begin at 3 p.m. and will be held outdoors. The Wisconsin KIA/MIA/POW names will be heard throughout the Park from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. with the Ceremony beginning at 3 p.m.The Highground will have Kari C. Porter, LPC and Director for the La Crosse Vet Center, as this year’s guest speaker. Veteran support and services will be onsite for continued resources. Coffee and sweets will be served.
The event will be held outdoors and the length will be determined by the weather. - Aster Assisted Living Ceremony – Aster Assisted Living of Marshfield will host a Veteran’s Day ceremony, performed by American Legion Post 54, Thursday November 11th at 2:00 p.m. The public is invited to attend. 13 flags will be displayed on the front
lawn at 305 S. Chestnut Ave, representing 13 recently fallen U.S. service members in Afghanistan. Everyone is invited to stay after for coffee and dessert. For more information call 715-305-0409. - Veteran’s Day Ceremony @ Wisconsin State Capitol (Virtual Option) – The Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs has joined forces with the Madison Veterans Council to host a Veterans Day ceremony in the Wisconsin State Capitol this year. The ceremony will begin at 10:00 a.m. and conclude with a moment of silence at 11:00 a.m.
