Abbotsford,WI – Sportswriting provides opportunities to connect with interesting people, and highlighting success stories is a special part of the job.

This writer had the privilege to interview a war veteran and learn about her success story, and share with our readers the power of positive thinking.

Dr. Antoinette Wallace, a veteran of the Iraq War, was selected by the Wounded Warrior Project as a veteran deserving of some special recognition: Attend Super Bowl LvIII in Las Vegas. Kevin Boothe, a former NFL offensive lineman, pays for a veteran to attend the Super Bowl each year, and Wallace was surprised with the honor at an event by Boothe.

Read all about the story of Wallace in our interview below. Think you know what positive thinking is? Just a few moments listening to Wallace, now a pharmacist, and you will see her success story.

“Wounded Warrior Project helps veterans deal with the physical side, but also the emotional side,”  – Antoinette Wallace

As Wallace stated so well, the mission and motto of WWP is one warrior helping another warrior. She went on to add that WWP has a far greater impact, as the benefits include helping others support one another, the warrior and the family.

Here at OnFocus, we celebrate athletes and honor their contributions with our weekly Athlete of the  Week and Team of the Week segments.

Seems like Wounder Warrior Project is deserving of perhaps a Team of the Lifetime Award, and Wallace deserving of an Athlete of the Lifetime Award. Kind of difficult to top either for their impact.
