WISCONSIN RAPIDS, WI (Submitted to OnFocus) – Steve Walczak of Wisconsin Rapids has been named to the Aspirus Riverview Foundation Board of Directors.
A graduate of Wisconsin Rapids Assumption High School, Walczak grew up a mile from Aspirus Riverview Hospital. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Western Colorado University in Gunnison and a juris doctor degree from Hamline University School of Law in St. Paul. Walczak has been an attorney in the Wisconsin Rapids area for 39 years and is a partner at Hill & Walczak Law Office.
“I enjoy practicing law because every day is different, and I get to meet great people with interesting stories,” said Walczak. He describes his career as surprising, changing, and rewarding and said, “The key to success is listening, being polite, putting in hard work, and asking good questions.”
Walczak is a dedicated community member who enjoys supporting and contributing to the growth of the Wisconsin Rapids area. He is a board member of the Assumption High School Foundation, co-president of the Assumption Athletic Association, former president of United Way of South Wood County, a lector at his church, and has been involved with the Red Cross.
Walczak and his wife, Jane have been married 30 years. They have three sons, Ben, Alex and Christopher. In their free time, they love to ski, camp and fish. They especially enjoy visiting Colorado, Wyoming and Europe as much as they can to enjoy their favorite winter sport. In the summers, they make it a tradition to camp and go on fishing trips to Canada with friends. Walczak’s favorite place to visit is Jackson, Wyoming, where he visits his son, Ben and spends time on the ski slopes. He also enjoys watching and supporting the Milwaukee Brewers.
