Town of Norrie, Wis. (July 14, 2023) – The Marathon County Sheriff’s Office, in a joint effort with multiple law enforcement agencies, has successfully arrested Shawn D. Clark, a previously featured suspect on the Shawano County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page “Wanted Wednesday” series. Clark’s arrest occurred on July 11, 2023, in a secluded hideout near County Highway D and County Highway OO in the Town of Norrie, Marathon County.

Clark was previously sought on an active felony warrant issued by the Department of Corrections for a Sex Offender Registration Violation. Upon apprehension, further investigations have led to Clark being referred to the Marathon County District Attorney’s Office on multiple charges. These include Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Resisting Arrest, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Felon in Possession of a Concealed Knife.

The Marathon County Sheriff’s Office is immensely grateful for the community’s support, which proved instrumental in identifying Clark’s hidden location. The clandestine fort was built on private property in an effort to evade arrest by law enforcement.

The Marathon County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the U.S. Marshals Service Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force and the Shawano County Sheriff’s Office.
Marathon County case number 23.2335.
