Nelson makes ACHA Division I commitment to Grand Canyon University

Wausau, WI – The Wausau Cyclones are proud to announce that forward Ricky Nelson has committed to play Division 1 (ACHA) college hockey at Grand Canyon University. Nelson, a native of Edina, Minnesota played in 86 games during his 2 seasons in Wausau where he scored 40 goals and contributed 62 assists. Nelson finishes his Cyclones career as the franchise all-time leader in points with 102.

“Ricky Nelson is one of the fiercest competitors that I have ever coached. He led by example every single game and grew as a player and human being during his time in Wausau and we couldn’t be happier and prouder that he is continuing his hockey path at Grand Canyon University,” stated Head Coach Nathan Oystrick.
