Wauwatosa West Outlasts Racine Park in Overtime Thriller

The Wauwatosa West Trojans got the win in overtime 60-57 over the Racine Park Panthers in a back-and-forth affair.

There were 13 lead changes and 7 ties, including at the end of regulation.

Racine Park would get leads up to 7 at points in the first half, but both teams always seemed to have an answer for each other’s runs. And with 9:21 left to go in the 2nd half the Trojans down 4 would go on an 8-0 run highlighted by back-to-back layups from Kason Mangum to take a 4-point lead.

Racine Park would respond with two buckets from Jaxon Moss to tie things up, but Matthew Kloskey would take the lead back for the Trojans with a jumper from just outside the lane.

Racine Park would get the lead back after buckets from Cole Betker and Zare Gwin, but Wauwatosa West would get the final points of the half from Hennings to send the game to OT.

In the overtime period, the Trojans would get the early lead with a Klosky basket. Racine Park would turn around and get a 3 from Moss. After that, it would be all Trojans Klosky and then two fast-break baskets from Jake Hansen.

Wauwatosa East was led in scoring by Kloske with 29, and Jalen Brown would add 14.

Racine Park was led by Moss with 19, Isaia added 13, and Gwinn added 12.
