Submitted to OnFocus – Amid a busy workweek and a pandemic, Wesley United Methodist Church wants to offer all community members the option to receive their Ash Wednesday ashes in a safe manner.

Wesley UMC will be holding a drive-thru Ash Wednesday event on Wednesday, February 17th, 2021 from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and again from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Reverend Lourdes Magalhaes along with volunteers from the church ask that you use Wesley’s Maple Street entrance to pick up a small bag of blessed ashes and a bulletin for your family. If you would like to enter the Sanctuary and pray when you collect your ashes bag, you can park in the parking lot across the street.

Three options are available for those that wish to attend. Option 1: Drive up and pick up the blessed ashes and bulletin for your family to join Wesley UMC virtually @ 6 PM on Facebook Live. The sanctuary will be available for those wanting to pray inside. (Covid-19 Protocol is in practice here). Option 2: Drive through by Maple Street entrance, roll down your passenger car window if you would like a blessing from Pastor Lourdes. Option 3: Come and join Wesley UMC at 6 p.m. for an ‘In Person’ Ash Wed. service.

No more than 10 persons at a time will be allowed in the sanctuary and the seats will be cleaned as soon as the person leaves.

You are invited to join Wesley UMC to worship ‘In Person’ at 6pm – ‘RSVP’ by phone or you can worship virtually on Facebook Live. COVID-19 protocols apply. Any questions, please contact the church at 715-384-2292.
