Which States Trust AI Most? New Data Reveals Surprising Front-Runners

California tops the list of most AI-trusting States with an AI trust rate of 114% – indicating a higher-than-expected engagement with artificial intelligence tools.
ChatGPT dominates AI-related searches across the U.S., with states like California (44.2M searches) and New York (20.8M searches) leading the charge in curiosity and adoption of AI-powered chatbots.
Even smaller states are embracing AI at surprising rates. Massachusetts and Utah, despite their lower populations, rank among the top 10 AI-trusting states, proving that AI interest isn’t just limited to the big tech hubs.

California leads with an AI trust rate of 114%. The state demonstrates extraordinary AI engagement with over 44 million ChatGPT searches and 77,910 Claude.AI queries, marking the highest AI tool adoption rates across all metrics.

New York secures second place, with an AI trust rate of 108%. The Empire State rapidly integrates AI into everyday life as millions search for AI tools and resources.

Massachusetts secures 3rd with a 106% trust rate. The state’s concentrated tech ecosystem drives high AI engagement, with over 7.4 million searches and adoption of AI tools, highlighting its position as a key AI innovation hub.

Virginia ranks fourth, with an AI trust rate of 102%. The state’s growing tech sector fuels high engagement, with nearly 9 million AI-related searches and strong adoption of AI assistants and learning tools.

New Jersey rounds out the top five, with an AI trust rate of 99%. With over 9.1 million searches for AI tools like ChatGPT, the state’s residents are embracing artificial intelligence daily.

Maryland claims sixth place with a 96% AI trust rate. The state’s engagement with artificial intelligence continues to rise, with nearly 6 million searches for AI tools, assistants, and learning resources, showing growing curiosity and willingness to integrate AI into their lives.

Washington follows closely in seventh, with an AI trust rate of 94%. The tech-driven state shows a strong interest in AI innovation, with over 7.4 million searches and high AI assistant adoption.

Florida lands eighth, with an AI trust rate of 92% and over 21 million AI-related searches, the Sunshine State is quickly integrating artificial intelligence into everyday life.

Utah comes ninth with an AI trust rate of 87%. Despite its smaller population, the state records over 3 million AI searches, demonstrating a growing tech-forward mindset and early adoption of AI tools.

Georgia rounds out the top ten, with an AI trust rate of 86%. The state shows increasing reliance on AI, with over 9.5 million monthly searches as residents explore ChatGPT, Claude.AI, and other AI-powered tools.
