According to Travis Wilson of wissports.net, the WIAA at their board of control meeting today approved the creation of a Girls Wrestling State Tournament along with Electronic Seeding for the Boys and Girls State Basketball Tournaments.
Girls wrestling would be offered for the 2021-2022 school year. This would not create a new regular season as both genders would continue to compete on the same teams.
There is an amendment being made to the girls wrestling proposal to adjust it to 2021-22 season (instead of 2020-21) and that girls would not wrestle on the boys teams at regionals, instead going into their own girls individual tourney immediately.

The other big proposal would introduce electronic seeding into the Boy’s and Girl’s State Tournament at the regional and sectional level. The specific details are yet to be worked out, as a committee from the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association is working on that now.
The proposal is passing the concept of automatic seeding. The actual formula, factors, etc. are being worked on by ad-hoc group of WBCA board members. Full disclosure, I am a member of that committee as an advisor, similar to my role on the WFCA football seeding committee. https://t.co/3p0b9tSaNN

The third announcement was the continuation of the two-division format for the Boy’s State Hockey Tournament, it had been on a two-year trial but was voted to be continued permanently.
The WIAA Board of Control has voted unanimously to make permanent the two-division structure in boys hockey. It had been a two-year experiment.

Another proposal coming out of the meeting will be a constitutional amendment for the WIAA that would create an additional ban for fans who are ejected from sporting events. They would be suspended for the next contest for that same sport. This would fall in line with the rules currently in place for student-athletes who are ejected. This would be taken up at the next annual meeting.
WIAA will be proposing a constitutional amendment at next year’s Annual Meeting that will require any spectator ejected from a game will be suspended from attendance for the next contest of the same sport. Makes spectator guidelines the same as if an athlete was ejected.
