WIAA Conference Realignment Task Force Releases Proposal for 2026 Football

The WIAA Conference Realignment taskforce released their first draft proposal for football only conference realignment for the 2026-2027 seasons and several local teams will see changes.

11 Player

Central Wisconsin – Large
Loyal/Greenwood removed and each team will play a crossover game with the Northwoods conference. The Northwoods Conference consists of Clintonville, Coleman, Crandon, Crivitz, Manawa, Northland Pines, and Shiocton.

Cloverbelt and Marawood/Central Wisconsin
The Cloverbelt loses Osseo-Fairchild who moves to the Dunn-St. Croix. The Marawood/Central WI loses Assumption and Rosholt who switch to 8-player and add Loyal/Greenwood. The two conferences will play one crossover between each other.

Wisconsin Valley/Big Rivers
No Changes

Great Northern
No Changes

South Central
No Changes

Trailways
The Trailways will add Deerfield to replace Cambria-Friesland who joined into a co-op with Randolph.

8-Player
North Central East
Lake Holcombe is removed and Newman Catholic, Assumption, and Athens are added to the conference. The Conference will no longer play a crossover with the North Central-East.

North Central West
Clayton and Prairie Farm will join in a co-op, and the conference will also add Clear Lake, Lake Holcombe, and Turtle Lake. The Conference will no longer play a crossover with the North Central-East

Northwoods-West
Butternut and Mercer break their co-op with Chequamegon and join into a co-op with Mellen. Flambeau is also added. There is not a crossover with the Northwoods-East

Northwoods-East
Flambeau moves to the other division, Elcho/White Lake, Three Lakes/Phelps, and Wabeno/Laona are added. There is not a crossover with the Northwoods-West.

Central Wisconsin
Newman Catholic moves out of the conference, and Rosholt is added.
