Wisconsin Rapids (OnFocus) – Due to the COVID Pandemic, the WIAA has decided that it would be best not to bring the State Cross Country Meet to a single location.

WIAA State Cross Country Meet Coordinator Jim Newman shared today that the State Tournament changes will be coming from the WIAA.

“The WIAA had already changed the structure to qualify for state which reduced the total number of qualifiers.  Their latest decision is to run each of the 3 divisions at different sites to further reduce the number of people at races,” Newman announced in an email to State Cross Country workers. “As a result, each division will be run in an area of the state which has the greatest concentration of schools in each division to minimize travel of the teams.”

This is a developing story and more information will be shared as the WIAA announces further details.
