Concern Over Litter at Wildwood Park

MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – Wildwood Park has recently seen an increase in litter, posing a threat to the local wildlife, particularly the park’s beloved geese. Park management is urging the community to help keep wildlife safe and Mother Nature happy by cleaning up all litter when enjoying time outdoors.

A recent social media post showed a goose entangled in netting. While this particular litter was likely not left there intentionally, there have been other instances of geese being injured by trash.

“Please help keep our wildlife safe and Mother Nature happy by cleaning up all your litter when enjoying time outdoors. Our zookeepers thankfully were able to capture this young goose who had a run-in with some netting and get her detangled,” the post stated.

The park provides numerous trash and recycling bins throughout its grounds. Visitors are encouraged to use these facilities to dispose of their waste responsibly. Additionally, volunteers are always welcome to join in community clean-up efforts to help maintain the park’s beauty and protect its wildlife.
