WILLIAM MILLHAUSEN NAMED CHIEF DEPUTY OF MARATHON COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

WAUSAU, WI (OnFocus) – Marathon County Sheriff Chad D. Billeb has promoted Captain William Millhausen to the position of Chief Deputy/Undersheriff effective January 8, 2023.

“I am humbled by the trust and confidence in my abilities to work alongside the men and women of the Marathon County Sheriff’s Office to serve the citizens and visitors of Marathon County,” stated Chief Deputy Millhausen. “Our staff are some of the best in the industry, and I am extremely proud of all of them and their dedication to the law enforcement profession.”

In coordination with the Sheriff, Chief Deputy Millhausen will be responsible for providing leadership for the daily management of the Sheriff’s Office while continuing to maximize the quality and effectiveness of the Office’s employees, processes, and resources.

“In his new role, Chief Deputy Millhausen will take on the challenges we face as an agency and community,” shared Sheriff Billeb. “Having worked alongside him during my time at the Sheriff’s Office, I have seen first-hand Bill’s incredible work ethic, commitment to public safety and service to our community.  I’m confident in his abilities and know he has the knowledge and skill to manage the day-to-day business of the Sheriff’s Office.”

Chief Deputy Millhausen began his career with the Marathon County Sheriff’s Office on February 6, 1998, as a Reserve Deputy. On November 15, 1999, he was hired as a full-time deputy assigned to the Patrol Division. In his time with the Sheriff’s Office he has worked as a deputy, detective, lieutenant within the Patrol and Investigations Divisions, and for almost six years has served as the captain overseeing the Communications Division.

During his twenty-four years with Marathon County, Chief Deputy Millhausen has served on several special teams, including: SWAT, Dive Team, Crisis Negotiations, Firearms and supervised the K9 Unit. Chief Deputy Millhausen has had assignments within the Investigations Division to include General Crimes, Sensitive Crimes, Evidence and the Special Investigations Unit.

Chief Deputy Millhausen’s diverse background, experience managing large projects, and the relationships he has fostered during his twenty-four year career with Marathon County uniquely qualifies him for this position.

“The Sheriff’s Office has been highly involved with numerous local community and statewide partners,” shared Millhausen. “I am committed to continuing those relationships and look forward to the opportunity to build new partnerships.”
