CENTRAL WISCONSIN, WI (OnFocus) – The National Weather Service advises residents and travelers to exercise caution as severe weather conditions are forecasted to impact several areas in the Midwest. The National Weather Service has issued wind and snow advisories for multiple counties spanning northeast Iowa, southeast Minnesota, and southwest into central Wisconsin.

Wind Advisory Details:

  • What: North winds of 20 to 30 mph, with gusts reaching 40 to 50 mph, are expected.
  • Where: Portions of northeast Iowa, southeast Minnesota, and central Wisconsin.
  • When: From 1 AM to 10 PM CDT Wednesday.
  • Impacts: Gusty winds may cause unsecured objects to be blown around. Snow-covered tree limbs could be brought down, potentially leading to power outages.

Winter Weather Advisory Details:

  • What: Heavy wet snow with additional accumulations of 2 to 4 inches, accompanied by winds gusting as high as 45 mph.
  • Where: Taylor, Clark, Jackson, La Crosse, and Crawford Counties.
  • When: Until 10 AM CDT Wednesday.
  • Impacts: Slippery road conditions are expected, impacting both the morning and evening commute.
