CENTRAL WI, WI (OnFocus) – A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for Clark, Taylor, and other Central WI counties, with snow, ice, and strong winds expected to impact the region from Tuesday evening through 10:00 a.m. Wednesday.

According to the National Weather Service, a quick-moving spring system will bring a burst of accumulating snow and a wintry mix to Central Wisconsin beginning after 6 p.m. Tuesday. The heaviest snowfall is expected during the late evening and overnight hours, with snow rates potentially exceeding 1 inch per hour at times.

Travelers should be prepared for hazardous conditions, especially during the Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning commutes. Roads may become slippery and visibility could be significantly reduced, particularly during periods of heavy snow and gusty winds.

What to Expect:

-->
  • Total snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches
  • Ice accumulation around one-tenth of an inch
  • Winds gusting up to 40 mph

When:

  • 6 PM Tuesday to 10 AM Wednesday (CDT)

The advisory is rated with moderate severity, and officials note that responsive action should be taken soon, especially for those planning to travel or commute during the advisory period.

Residents are urged to allow extra travel time, drive with caution, and stay up to date with local forecasts and advisories as conditions develop.
