MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – The National Premier Soccer League (NPSL), the only league designated by USASA as a Tier 1 national league, is proud to announce that Wisconsin Conquerors FC (Marshfield, WI) has joined the league as an expansion team. The club will begin play in 2024.
“We are pleased that Wisconsin Conquerors FC has joined the NPSL,” NPSL Director of Membership Development Dina Case said. “The Conquerors organization brings great passion for the game and is focused on providing opportunities for players to grow as both players and people. They look to build strong relationships with the surrounding communities through their mission-based message and model. We are excited to see their vision come to fruition.”
The organization will be led by Dr. Alexander Eddo and a talented board of directors that includes soccer legend Brian Deane.
Dr. Eddo, who serves as the club’s founder and president, is a Doctor of Pharmacy practicing in Wisconsin. He is a former player who was scouted to FC Porto and later played four years at Tusculum University on a scholarship. He has a burning vision to spread peace and love on earth. His passion in life is to help young people realize their full potential, maximize their individual talent and be vessels for change. Eddo believes we are all here to make a difference and leave this world a better place for the next generation.
“We will be a soccer club of athletes who are first and foremost, of high character and moral integrity and secondarily athletes of talent,” Eddo said. “We will develop players of high caliber able to compete at the top of elite soccer.”
A three-time capped England National team player, Deane is famously known for scoring the first English Premier League goal in 1992 against Manchester United in a 2-1 victory for Sheffield United. He was a prolific goal scorer, amassing 194 goals in 652 games from 1985 to 2006. He represented clubs such as Doncaster Rovers, Sheffield United, Leeds United, Middlesbrough, Benfica, Leicester City, West Ham, Sunderland, and Perth Glory.
Other board members include Gustavo Florez, Eddie Bousum, Sarju Patel, Cerene Williams-Eddo, and Amanda Rust.
Established in February 2023, Central Wisconsin 3DSPORTS Ministry enters the sports and entertainment industry to raise up a new and complete athlete who is, first and foremost, an upstanding human being and secondarily a sportsman or woman delighted to use their talent to glorify God. They welcome everyone and seek to mentor our players to a high moral standard. They are also charting a direct pathway to the top of elite soccer for our most talented players.
“The NPSL has a rich culture and foundation for building up communities through sports, and we firmly aspire to the same convictions,” Eddo said. “We want to create the spirit of a champion team to be the ultimate example of brotherhood exemplified by players committed to the greater good and we feel the NPSL is the perfect breeding ground.”
Home matches will be held at Kenneth & Ardyce Heiting Community Stadium in Marshfield, WI. The $11 million facility has artificial turf and seating for 4,000.
