Wisconsin Drug Take Back Day to be Held April 24

Prescription drugs take back

OnFocus – Communities all over wood county will have a prescription drug take back event on Saturday, April 24.

At the event, people can come and safely dispose of any unused prescription drugs they might have.

Marshfield City Hall will be a host site from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and the Pittsville Police Department will also serve as a drop-off site from 9 a.m. to noon. Other locations include: Pick N’ Save in Wisconsin Rapids (10 a.m. – 2 p.m.), Port Edwards Fire Department (11 a.m. – 1 p.m.), Piggly Wiggly in Nekoosa (9 a.m. – noon) and the Rome Police Department (10 a.m. – 2 p.m.).

Items to be brought include: Prescriptions, over-the-counter medications, creams, inhalers, non-aerosol sprays, liquids, ointments, patches, pet medications and vials.

Items to not include in your drop off are: aerosol cans, bio-hazardous materials (anything containing blood or bodily fluids), household hazardous waste (paints, pesticides, oil, gas), illegal drugs, needles/sharps (unless going to Marshfield location), mercury thermometers and personal care products such as soaps, shampoos, lotions, sunscreens, etc.
