Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln High School is pleased to announce the 2023 LHS Athletic
Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will be held on Friday, September 22nd. The
ceremony will take place at halftime of the Varsity Football Game between DC Everest
and Wisconsin Rapids. The Lincoln High School Athletic Hall of Fame will open its
doors to proudly welcome the 2023 inductees, Angela (Hilgers) Pergande, Michele
Curry, and Scott Roeder
Angela (Hilgers) Pergande, a 2000 graduate, excelled as a two-sport athlete during her
time at Lincoln High School. Angela lettered in Gymnastics for four years and Track &
Field for three years. She was a leader in both programs. Angela was awarded
All-Conference recognition in both Gymnastics and Track & Field. Along with
Conference and sectional championships in multiple events, Angela competed in the
state tournament in Gymnastics all four years and at Track & Field state her senior
year. Angela received All-State recognition in Gymnastics as a Sophomore, Junior, and
Senior. She continued her Track & Field career at the University of Illinois and
eventually after transferring to UW-La Crosse, for pole vault. Angela received
numerous Big Ten, WIAC, and NCAA recognition. In recent years, Angela has
continued to give back to athletes by coaching and working at the state gymnastics
event at LHS.
Michele Curry, a 1990 graduate, excelled in two sports during her time at LHS. Michele
lettered all four years in swimming and lettered three years while being part of the Track
& Field team. Michelle served as a leader in her sports. In addition to swim and track,
Michele also participated in basketball for one year and was a powerlifter for three
years. During the ‘87-’89 swim seasons, Michele received all-conference recognition
along with becoming a state qualifier each of those years. After graduation from LHS,
Michele continued her successful career at the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee.
Michele held multiple records during her four-year career at UW-Milwaukee. After
graduating from college, Michele moved to Colorado where she continues to work and
live.

Scott Roeder, a 1983 graduate, excelled in two sports during his time at LHS. Scott
lettered three years in football and three years in basketball. Scott was a strong leader
and had many high school accolades. Scott received all-conference recognition in
football and basketball. In addition to conference recognition in basketball, Scott was
elected to play in the all-star game and was selected to the all-state tournament team in
‘82-’83. After graduation from LHS, Scott attended Luther College before transferring to
UW-Platteville to play basketball under head coach Bo Ryan. After college, Scott
returned to the Wisconsin Rapids area to work and live.
Please join us on Friday night, September 22nd to honor and congratulate Angela,
Michele, and Scott. Admission to the game is $5.00.
