Conference outlook

With a strong returning base and our entire freshman class having competitive swimming experience, we are focusing on the aspects of the sport we can control, rather than trying to speculate where we will fit by end of season.

Keys to your success this season:

Focusing on the fundamentals – our attitudes when we approach the block or step onto the diving board to the simple details of our underwaters, tight streamlines and good technique. The more we can turn the small details into good habits, the more success each athlete will see by the end of season.

Behind the scenes: Who are some of the people that help your program succeed?

We have an extrememly supportive athletic director that does his best to help navigate any potential conflicts that may arise. Chris Feidt and Scout Gerndt have done a lot within the last year to take the meet management aspect of hosting events off of my plate so I can focus on coaching our big meets like our invitational, conference, and sectionals.

Our booster club is critical in helping our girls have the opportunity to compete by minimizing the impact of the financial burden this sport can place on families. From buying team suits and caps every year, to providing meals to away meets, we want anyone who wants to compete to have that opportunity to come to practice and fully participate without the fear that swimming is an expensive sport.

Coach’s comments: anything else you’d like to share?

The amount of personal improvement we as coaches we have seen from our atheles these first two weeks is immense. We have a wonderful group of girls that are supporting eachother, open to one another, and will to take and apply feedback. It will be an exciting season to say the least and a group of girls we are honored to coach.
