Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln Raiders Baseball Season Preview

Key Returners include:
Brennan Huber (12) – 2nd Team All-State OF
Braden Lewis (12) – 2nd Team WVC P
Canon Plawman (12) – Catcher
We lost quite a few seniors, but return a decent amount of varsity experience.  The three players above are three-year varsity letter winners; Braden and Brennan have started all three years.  Other key seniors with varsity experience are: Marcos Simonsen – OF/P, Brian Olds – IF/DH, Ethan Freeman – P/1B
Key Newcomers are: Trevor Martin (11) – P/1B, Kaleb Ellis (11) – SS/P, Josh Dekarske (11) – 3B/P, Jackson Laskowski (11) – OF/P, Brett Simonsen (10) – 2B
Strengths of the team include athleticism and a cohesiveness that focuses on team first and supporting each other.  I have been really impressed with the focus and effort of this group thus far.  They seem eager to learn each day.
Outlook: I think we will be competitive overall and in the conference in particular.  SPASH is still the team to beat in the conference.  But I like our chances against any opponent we play this year.  If it helps, I’ve also attached a picture of the WBCA yearbook outlook for the team.  Huber is on the cover as a player to watch this spring.
