Wisconsin State Fair Dairy Promotion Board is Hiring!

The Wisconsin State Fair Promotion Board is now accepting applications for Dairy Lane Ambassadors for the 2025 fair season from July 30 to August 10, 2025. Represent the Wisconsin dairy community at the Wisconsin State Fair while networking with dairy farmers and industry professionals, overseeing the care and cleanliness of 16 dairy animals, assisting with milking demonstrations, supporting exhibitors, and connecting with fairgoers while sharing your personal dairy story.

Position: 2025 Wisconsin State Fair Dairy Lane Ambassador
Employment Dates: July 30-August 10, 2025 (full-time and part-time shifts available)
Position Description:
● Represent the Wisconsin Dairy industry at Wisconsin State Fair.
● Network with Wisconsin dairy farmers and industry professionals that serve on the
Wisconsin State Fair Dairy Promotion Board.
● Oversee the care and cleanliness of eight dairy cows, two dairy calves and six dairy
goats at Wisconsin State Fair.
● Assist with dairy cow and dairy goat milking demonstrations during Wisconsin State Fair.
● Connect with fairgoers and answer questions and share your dairy story.
● Interact with exhibitors at Wisconsin State Fair and assist with dairy youth recognition.
Expectations:
● Respectfully interact with staff, board members, volunteers, fellow ambassadors, fair
attendees and fair staff.
● Attend Dairy Promotion training sessions prior to the fair.
● Complete morning chores by 8 a.m. Morning chores include washing cows, feeding,
watering, cleaning the bedding packs, sweeping aisles and sweeping around Dairy
Lane exhibit.
● Check on the calf and goat areas throughout the day. Freshen water, add feed and
clean the pens as needed.
● There should always be a minimum of 2 people watching the animals at all times during
the day; 1 person at night. During milking demonstrations, at least 4 people should be
present.
Requirements:
● Familiarity with cattle husbandry and cattle handling best practices.
● Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
● Must be 18 years of age as of July 30, 2025.
Compensation:
$150 a day plus food and lodging; additional bonuses available at the end of the fair
