Incident Highlights Hazards of Law Enforcement
A parked Wisconsin State Patrol cruiser was struck by a semi on I-94 Monday morning in Dane County.
Video shows the semi crossing over the edge of the road and grazing the rear and side of the cruiser. No injuries were reported and both vehicles were towed from the scene.
The incident highlights the dangers law enforcement and roadside workers face, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation noted in a Facebook post on the incident.
Officers at the time were performing a traffic stop and not in the vehicle. Another patrol vehicle present at the scene was undamaged. Investigation is being conducted by the Dane County Sheriff’s Office.
