OnFocus – Recently, a Wisconsin State Patrol trooper in the North Central Region stopped a pickup truck for an equipment violation. On his approach, the trooper noticed the vehicle was not equipped with seats and the driver was seated in a camping chair.

This is in violation of Wisconsin State Statute 305.27, “All automobiles manufactured on or after January 1, 1972, shall have safety belts installed at all designated seating positions which meet the specifications of the safety belt system with which the vehicle was originally manufactured.”
