Abbotsford (OnFocus) – For one half of Abbotsford’s nonconference matchup with Wittenberg-Birnamwood, it was a closely contested ballgame. W-B proved to be too much in the second half, however, and pulled away for a 60-40 win over the Falcons.
Catie Clement hit back to back three pointers early on, giving Abbotsford a 10-8 lead, and coupled with key baskets from Sydney Falteisek, the Falcons led 16-15 with six minutes remaining in the first half, their final lead of the game.
The Chargers then scored 7 unanswered points, and took just a 26-22 lead into the half.
After the break, the Chargers’ ball movement on offense proved to be too much for Abbotsford to halt, and the Chargers pulled away for the win.
Clement led the Falcons with 11 points. Alea Graff had 10 points and 8 rebounds for the Falcons.
“Wittenberg-Birnamwood dominated us in rebounds. 25 of their points were off rebounds,” said Abbotsford Head Coach Ally Meserole.
Emma Herb had 24 points to lead W-B.
