WOOD COUNTY, WI (OnFocus) – On May 3, 2024 at approximately 12:13 a.m., the Wood County Dispatch Center received a report of a one vehicle crash near the address of 471 North Biron Drive. The initial investigation indicates the vehicle was traveling northbound on Biron Drive.
The vehicle was traveling at high rate of speed and failed to negotiate a curve. The vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree. It was determined there was a single occupant/ operator of the vehicle.
This individual was pronounced dead at the scene. Agencies assisting the Wood County Sheriff’s Department in the incident included: Grand Rapids Police Department, Wood County Rescue, Biron Fire Department, Biron First Responders, Wisconsin Rapids Ambulance Wood County Dispatch Center and Neiman’s Tow Service. This incident remains under investigation.
