Security at the Wood County Courthouse will tighten starting October 7.
In a release, the Wood County Sheriff’s Department stated that side exits will be close and that all staff and the public will be required to enter through a single entrance at the front west side of the courthouse.
Deputies will provide additional security at the front door with a scanning station and metal detection equipment present. Since delays are anticipated, visitors to the courthouse should allow an extra ten minutes to accommodate the changes.
“We are excited to be able to provide the residents of Wood County with a secure courthouse facility, but ask for your patience as we put this plan into place,” the department stated.
