WOOD COUNTY, WI (OnFocus) – Wood County is looking for suggestions as to where bike and walking opportunities could use improvement. The county has created a survey and interactive map system to allow avid bikers and walkers to give input as to where they would like to see additional trails and paths.

Those interested in giving feedback can use the interactive map to identify important routes, propose new routes, locate areas of concern, and show destinations where you like to walk or bike to.

The survey will be used to gather community perspectives, opinions and concerns related to bicycle and pedestrian transportation, resident values and attitudes towards future improvements, bike and pedestrian preferences and experiences and more.

Both tools can be found here.

The input given in the survey and interactive map will be used to update the Wood County Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan.

According to a release by the county, “this plan is intended to guide the development of bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure, recommendations, and policy that will create a safe and accessible network across Wood County’s various communities.”

The county is partnering with the North Central Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission (NCWRPC) on this planning effort.

The input period will close on October 1st, 2021.
