Developing story – Wood County Sheriff’s Department is on-scene at an incident near Arpin, where a shooting altercation resulting in a deputy being shot has been reported. According to early reports, the deputy was responding to reports of a distressed male. Medical helicopters are on-scene, and the status of those involved is not available at this time.
Marshfield Police Department has escorted an ambulance to Marshfield Medical Center.
A source has confirmed the officer was shot in the upper torso while responding to a suicide call.
The Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) is taking over the investigation.
