He is a member of the Special Response Team, also teaching hunter safety classes. As a Field Training Officer, Anderson also trained many other deputies.
“We appreciate his dedication and service to Wood County,” the sheriff’s department stated in a Facebook post.
A badge pinning ceremony was held on Thursday at Riverside Park in Pittsville. Anderson’s wife, Jennifer, pinned his new badge. Also present were his sons Zander and Tanner, parents, father-in-law Scott Drew (Port Edwards Police Chief), brother-in-law Cody Conover (Grand Rapids officer), and Lee Garrels, retired Wood County Sheriff’s Department Patrol Lieutenant.
“Congratulations Aaron, we’re looking forward to working with you in your new role at the Sheriff’s Department!” the department said.
