As reported by multiple media sources, the two spring professional football leagues, the XFL and USFL, are involved in discussions regarding a merger.
Significant discussions are ongoing about merging the country’s two professional football spring leagues, the United States Football League and the XFL, by as early as next season.
USFL leadership has been informing coaches and personnel recently that “those talks are taking place,” a source with direct knowledge of the conversations told The News. The source, who isn’t authorized to speak for the leagues, said they were told the merger could happen as soon as 2024 and as late as 2025. – The Detroit News
